Refurbish Existing Drying System : Western Michigan University Pilot Line
Western Michigan University is a leader in the field of paper coating research and applications as well as a leading educator of undergraduate and graduate engineers and scientists. When the school built a brand new pilot facility in 2002, it was offered the use of a pre-owned IR system. Marsden was selected to determine the suitability of the system for the pilot lines’ needs. The company’s engineers provided the University’s project team with detailed drawings, drying capacity expectations, operating costs and installation costs. Marsden then refurbished the system at its manufacturing facility. Finally, the system was installed and re-commissioned. Today, it continues to meet its new owner’s drying requirements. The cost of the refurbished system was less than half the purchase price of a new system.
