The history of Marsden begins with the development of Embedded Combustion™, a proprietary technology created by company founder Thomas M. Smith in 1976. This technology revolutionized drying applications by allowing heat to be transferred more efficiently, more safely and more cost-effectively than ever before. It was further refined through the development of an array of gas IR emitters and systems that afforded Marsden customers greater control and flexibility in addressing their particular drying needs. In fact, continuous research and development has resulted in over 50 U.S. and foreign patents.

Marsden products and services are now utilized in a wide variety of industrial applications all over the world. These products and services are offered through four core divisions:
